Our Senior Solicitor, Wissam Philopos, represented a woman at Parramatta Local Court in a licence suspension appeal against Transport for NSW.
Charge
Our client faced a 3 month suspension. She has a strong need for a licence, caring for her ill father in Tamworth and regularly assisting her children and grandchildren in Sydney. She travels between Tamworth and Sydney multiple times each week and must hold a licence to look after her family.
Following careful preparation and targeted submissions highlighting special circumstances and the impact on dependent family members, the court reduced the suspension from 3 months to 2 weeks. Our client was understandably relieved, as she could resume caring duties after a very short time off the road.
Result
This result was achieved through the persistent work of Mr Philopos. He prepared comprehensive material, including character references and affidavits from family members to substantiate the need for a licence. No stone was left unturned in presenting the strongest case on appeal.
This case shows the value of quality representation and a solicitor who cares about their client’s circumstances. If you need help with a licence suspension appeal, contact Jameson Law or call (02) 8806 0866. For general information on suspensions, see Transport for NSW licensing.
